The mission of the Behavioral Health Division is to help individuals and families maintain a balanced lifestyle by providing professional and confidential behavioral health services and resources that are culturally appropriate to the urban Native American community. The NATIVE HEALTH Behavioral Health Division is Arizona Department of Health Services Licensed as an outpatient treatment center and for misdemeanor domestic violence offender treatment services, and DUI Screening and Treatment. NATIVE HEALTH accepts AHCCCS and is a Magellan Provider.
Mental health services include: Individual, family and group counseling, parent and youth counseling. NATIVE HEALTH provides counseling services to address numerous concerns including depression, couples/marital issues, grief and loss, stress management, self-esteem enhancement, dating and family violence and sexual assault intervention, referrals and counseling. Additional fees may be required for misdemeanor domestic violence offender treatment services, DUI services, and driver's license reinstatement and other counseling services. Alcohol and substance programs include: DUI Services: screening and treatment, driver’s license reinstatement screenings, and adolescent substance abuse programs. Additional fees may be required for substance abuse screening/assessment services.
Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program (IOP) - Open to all. State licensed program. Monday-Thursday 6:00-8:30 p.m. Fee is $370.00 for 8 weeks. If you are on AHCCCS, AHCCCS may cover the cost. You must be on AHCCCS on the time of intake for this benefit. Both NATIVE HEALTH and NHW Community Health Center provides AHCCCS enrollment services.
Youth Substance Abuse Program: The NATIVE HEALTH Strengthening the Journey Program, a substance abuse treatment service for Native American teens 13-18, is currently available. Program staff work with youth and their families to overcome the challenges associated with substance abuse. The program is offered free of charge. The Strengthening the Journey Program utilizes a highly researched treatment model, the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach. NATIVE HEALTH Domestic Violence Program: Open to all. State licensed Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Program consists of 26 weeks of treatment services. Each person must complete an initial intake and screening and attend weekly scheduled group sessions. Each group session is 2 hours in length and are held from on Mondays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Fees are $15 per session and may be covered under AHCCCS. NATIVE HEALTH Anger Management Treatment Groups: Open to all. Applications are being accepted for this 12 week program. The objective of this 12 week group will be to: learn to manage anger effectively; stop violence or the threat of violence; develop self control over thoughts and actions; and receive support from others. This highly interactive group will help you develop the skills necessary to successfully manage anger. It is designed to meet court ordered anger management classes. Group sessions are on Tuesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Fees are $15.00 per session and may be covered under AHCCCS. Family and Child Counseling Services: Services available for children ages 11 and older who have experienced loss, trauma, behavioral or emotional problems. NATIVE HEALTH Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Services: Provides education, culturally sensitive advocacy and referrals for Native Americans ages 13 and older who have been victimized by sexual assault and/or domestic violence. Native American Pathways Program: FREE HIV/AIDS testing, counseling, referrals and prevention. HIV test results are available within ten (10) minutes or less. For more information contact Kim at (602) 279-5262 x 3212 or email ktishie@nachci.com.
Traditional Services: Include Talking Circles, cultural empowerment, traditional problem solving and blessing and smudging. Talking Circles are held Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and are open to the community. For more information contact Roy at (602) 279-5262 x 3202 or rjohnston@nachci.com.
